At 9:00, the parents came barging through the doors! We were all very egg-cited! Lots of us had a chance to sell our pom pom chicks/bunnies, we gave change and reciepts. Everyone was really kind and bought loads of pom poms!

Our amazing advertisements were playing on the whiteboard! Some of the class were still creating our pom pom product to show the parents the process! After 10am, a couple of year three and year four children came to visit our market to buy any left over products (we even bought some ourselves!).

We sold them all and raised over £200 as a whole year group!!!

Over the easter holidays, can you think about what we could spend the profit on?

At 9:00 the doors opened, the buyers flooded the room and our products sold very quickly. The baskets flew off the shelves! Some parents brought 2 or more, how generous!!

While the sales were taking place we took on the role of sales staff, taking money and giving change. Iestyn and Hazel were in charge of the adverts on the computer. Lily-Mai and Cerys were on the door, greeting our lovely customers!! Those not selling created Easter games waiting for their parents to arrive.

By 9:25 all our products (except 1) had been sold, Rhys made a closed sign for our door then we decided to try and sell our table clothes to make more money. (Noah advertised them on a sign!!) Finally the last basket was sold to Tamsin’s Mum to complete our sale!!

We were all extremely happy with the sale and some of us even want to make more!!

We counted up all of our money as a year group and we have made a profit of around £200. The next thing we need to do is decide what we are going to buy!! If you have any ideas, we welcome to any suggestions!!

Today we have made easter cards and bunting  so our  classroom looks nice and cards for our family. Then we filled our baskets with some tissue with 4 choco coins per basket. Next we made some maps so people who come on friaday know were the classrooms are. and arows so we can lead the people to 4HN!! We also went into the ICT suite and made flyers to advertise the enterprise market.

Hello all,

It is nearly time to sell our Easter cards and the excitement is building! Today, we have started to finish everything off and we have practised and performed are adverts to sell our cards quicker on Friday.

We have enjoyed this week because we have learnt about how to run a business by competing challenging and enjoyable activities. It has been great fun to move away from our usual timetable and spend a whole week working on a HUGE project!

We have enjoyed making all the cards and we would like to do similar projects in the future. We are feeling sad because it is near the end of this fantastic week. We hope to continue this blog and post news every Thursday or Friday – so keep an eye out for all the latest 4W news!

Remember… tomorrow is market day SO DON’T BE LATE and turn up between 9am-10am. Easter cards will be £1.

For our market tomorrow (starting at 9am), we finished our pom poms! We added all of the details and ended up with 139 bunnies/chicks.

Today we created our pom poms using cardboard and wool. It was difficult at first but we all got the hang of it. In the end, we made 70 pom poms. Mrs Jenkins even made tiny pom poms using a fork!!!!

Tomorrow, we are going to add googly eyes, beaks and bunny ears!

Tuesday 8th April 2014

This morning we were looking at other types of cards and completing our market research. We have decided our Easter card design and it will be revealed on Friday!

We also looked at how important money is when working in a business.

Tomorrow, is a big day for 4W. We are going to make our Easter cards (approximately 100 of them!) and prepare our classroom/shop for Friday!

For our morning sentence we made a slogan for our company.

For Maths, some of us looked at percentages, change and adding money. This is going to help us with Enterprise week!

After breaktime, we split our paper into four and came up with different designs for our Pom Poms. Eddy decided on ‘Pom Pom Chicks’, Julia thought of ‘Pom Pom Rabbits’, Jessica decided on ‘Pom Pom Lambs’ and Jersey wanted to use them all!

For ICT, we created posters and flyers for our Market Day to tell everyone what we are selling and what time it starts!

Miss Hulse has to now go to Hobby Craft after 4H made a shopping list ready to create their products tomorrow!

Monday 7th April 2014

Today, we have started to learn about how to set up a business. We have conducted market research, named our company and designed a logo.

Our company is called Egg-cellent Easter Planet and we intend to sell hand-crafted Easter cards to parents this Friday! You can also look out for our eye catching logo which was designed by the pupils of 4W.

Tomorrow, we will be designing our Easter card and focusing on the importance of money within a business.
