Dear Parents / Guardians,
This half term we will be looking at the topic of ‘Ancient Egypt’ and finding out all about life in ancient Egyptian times.
For the children’s home learning project we would like them to work on a writing task which will show lots of their learning about our new topic. Please choose one of the following tasks:
1). Create a non-fiction booklet all about Ancient Egypt with lots of fascinating facts and information. Think about how you would set out your non-fiction writing.
2). Write a story set in ancient Egypt. Your main characters could be rich or poor, a Pharaoh, a slave or maybe even a mummy. What sort of adventure might your characters go on? Include lots of detail and VCOP.
3). Pretend you are a character in ancient Egypt and write a diary for them. What do they get up to each day? Are there any special events that happen to them which you could include?
Please use what you are learning in school to help you complete one of the writing tasks as well as any extra research you are able to do at home to help you add more detail.
If you would like to complete a drawing or model to go with your writing then you are very welcome to but it is the writing task that we would like you to concentrate on this time.
Please bring your homework into school on Thursday 4th January 2018.
Families are then very welcome to come along and share all our fabulous work at our Homework Showcase on Thursday 11th January at 8:50 until 9:10.
