This week we have been working on our non-fiction writing and using these skills to plan and write non-fiction pages about World War 2. At home talk about the different features your non-fiction page should have, e.g. headings, subheadings and the order that they should appear on the page.
Also talk about the topic you have chosen to write about and practise saying clear factual sentences about it. Concentrate on using
- Different non-fiction openers e.g. Often, Sometimes, During, Also to start your sentences in different ways.
- A range of connectives to extends your sentences e.g. so, however, although, yet, because, but so that you really explain the facts in detail.
Remember, if you can say a sentence clearly, you will be able to write it too.
