Curriculum objective: To recognise the place value of each digit in a three-digit and 4 digit number.
Task: We would like you to practice your counting and mental addition and subtraction at home to demonstrate a sound understanding of place value. (Th, H, T, U)
Examples:
- Have a go at adding/subtracting 10 to/from a 3 or 4 digit number.
- Add/subtract more than 10 to/from any 3 digit number e.g. +30 or – 60.
- Add/subtract 100 or more to/from any 4 digit number.
- Add/subtract 1000 or more to/from any 4 digit number
Remember, solving these mentally means no writing it down, just to solve in your head!
