Year One Review of the Week

Another lovely week packed full of exciting activities…so don`t be surprised if your child is feeling a bit tired !

We have been shape hunting around school, acting out stories  (with musical accompaniment!), and taken a whistle stop tour of ten seaside resorts around the UK. We have been explorers and have searched for living creatures around the outdoor area. You wouldn`t believe  the size of the slugs we found under the logs! We have read books together and listened to one another reading. We now know the rhymes and sounds of

ai ee ea igh ow oa oo ir ur er or aw oi oy ow (as in cow). We will be sending these rhymes home soon for your child to teach you at home….but not yet because we still have some more to learn.

We have also been practising our cursive handwriting. So far we have learned to form c o a d g e f (but in cursive style -not like this).

Remember to put the”Learn with your Child” event in your diary (Thursday, 1st October at 8.50am -10.00am)

See you then..
