We have all had a great week learning about Chinese New Year!
We have looked at lots of non-fiction books to find out how it is celebrated and also looked in them to find out about China. We have tasted some Chinese food, tried to do Chinese writing, answered the register in Chinese, listened to and created our own Chinese music and even had a Chinese restaurant in our role play area!!
Each of the classes made a Chinese dragon mask and then we worked together to create a dragon dance which was great fun. On the last day of the topic all three classes got together in the hall to perform their dance to each other. What made it extra special was that everyone was wearing something red as in China, red is a lucky colour!
