What a busy week we have had celebrating Chinese New Year!
We started the week reading the story of the Chinese New Year race and learning why this year is the year of the monkey. We have created dragon dances, tried to use chopsticks to pick things up with, played in the Chinese restaurant, done Chinese writing, written Chinese New Year wishes, made Chinese music, made our own Chinese dragons, tried some Chinese food and even learnt some Chinese words!!! How did we have time to do all of that?!
To finish our week, we all came to school wearing something red as it is a lucky colour! We looked great all dressed in red! All 3 classes went into the hall to have a celebration! We performed our dragon dances to the other classes and made loud music- we had such a great time!
We have really enjoyed learning all about Chinese New Year!
