The children have settled in well since returning from the Christmas break. They have been learning all about superheroes and focussing on the story Supertato. We have learnt to retell the story, measured the size of different vegetables and even made our own ‘Supertatos’! The children have also been very excited by the challenges set by ‘The Evil Pea’.
For the next couple of weeks we will be learning about ‘People Who Help Us’. On Monday, we had a special visitor called Jackie who helped us understand the importance of brushing our teeth! The children will also be learning about the emergency services and how helpful they can be.
In phonics, we have been learning about digraphs and trigraphs (two letters that make one sound/three letters that make one sound). So far this term we have introduced ‘ai’, ‘ee’, ‘igh’, ‘oa’ and ‘oo’. In maths, we have been learning all about ‘teen’ numbers (11-20).
