We have had a great fortnight learning all about Pirates! We have learned all about Queen Elizabeth I, Sir Francis Drake, the five oceans and Black Beard! We have also been busy following instructions to make our own pirate hats and eye patches and making predictions about whether objects float or sink. We then made our own pirate ships and were very excited to see if they floated!
We finished the topic with a ‘Pirate Party’! Everyone came to school dressed as pirates and each class performed their pirate dances where they worked in groups to be on a pirate ship. Some were scrubbing the deck, some were climbing the rigging, some were on lookout and some were rowing the ship. We then had a drink and a pirate cake to get our energy up for singing some pirate songs!
