Year 4 Talk Homework – Writing
Curriculum objective: In narratives begin to create setting, character and plot.
Task: This week we have been looking at the Cave Baby story by Julia Donaldson, in which a curious Stone Age cave baby sneaks out one night to explore. Next week we will be planning and writing our own Cave Baby adventure so at home we would like you to talk about what might be the problem in your story. What might happen to Cave Baby while he is out and about? Who might he meet that could cause a problem – it could be animal or human. What might happen in his environment that could lead to disaster? Use all that you are learning about Stone Age times to make your ideas sound realistic. Remember to consider how the story might be solved too.
