Young Voices 14th January 2016

WOW! What an AMAZING day and evening the Key Stage 2 choir had at the Genting Arena in Birmingham for Young Voices!!

We were all so excited as we set off on the coach and we were amazed when we walked into the arena- it was huge! We soon started the afternoon rehearsals with our conductor called David. It was great to sing with all the other schools who were there too! The rehearsals went really fast! We then had some tea and then the audience started to arrive! It was great fun trying to find our families in the crowd!

Then it was time for the main event! The lights went down and Urban Strides came on stage who were incredible and inspired all of us! We then started to sing the songs that we had been busy learning and really enjoyed the dance moves too! Tom Billington was one of the special guests and we all loved his performances and we particularly enjoyed joining him in singing ‘Hyper’. Laura Wright was the other special guest. She had an amazing voice and it was very special singing with her- we loved singing World in Union with her. She sang it at the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup and we even got to do a mini Haka as part of our performance.

The concert went by so fast as we were having so much fun! It was a very busy day and a late night but we absolutely loved it and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!!

Thank you to all the parents who have been so supportive of the event and thank you to the CFSA who have contributed towards the cost of the coach.

Look out for the Young Voices display board in school by the art gallery to see how much fun we all had!
